Prior to doing this job, that I love doing by the way, I was in The Military for 22 years, 12 Years as a reserve, deployed to 3 war zones.
I have worked as a Prison Officer in New Zealand’s roughest Jail in The Hutt Valley, Wellington.
I have worked as a security Contractor in the Middle East looking after Oil Company Staff from abduction and targeted killing.
So…I know how to handle myself, I take no prisoners if necessary.
My best tool that has got me out of a world of hurt on a regular basis it is my ability to talk & be empathetic.
So, let’s put all this into a blog and tell the world a little story.
Process servers are required to serve Legal documents or Serving papers, on one side of a lawsuit or another.
This involves Correctly identifying the type of document, type of service required.
The ability to get the job done in a timely and efficient manner.
As Process servers in Brisbane, We are not the Government, we are licensed by the Government to do our job.
There have been instances where I have served the Queensland Government, the Queensland Police, Hospitals etc…
On the other hand in a separate case I have found myself serving documents on behalf of the NSW Police in Queensland.
So as you see we work in several directions.
Generally we serve Civil law Documents, but yes, we can serve documents that could be served by the police such as Good behaviour orders etc.
So, when you go to work do you get assaulted 3 times a year? On average in 10 years I have been assaulted once a year.
This is not including the phone calls from persons who threaten to kill or other things.
My job in most parts 99% of customers are ok however even though they are receiving documentation from my customer.
However, I treat them like my customer with respect, I talk to people like I want to be talked too and treat them the same.
What if I’m attacked, I am as measured with my response as I have always been through my career…but now I don’t carry a firearm.
So far in Queensland only two of the above offenders have been charged by the Queensland Police.
Only two, Mr Bow man got 6 months.

The rest QPS either made no attempt to investigate or said, “get a camera……..we need proof….it’s your word against his.
In all cases there was avenues open to the police to investigate, there were neighbours who saw the incident.
The incident that really surprised me for none investigation was the Crack head truckie.
They had everything CCTV witnesses…nothing happened…With this one the Unnamed Constable gave me some of his wisdom from the Months he had been in the Police.
Im still shaking my head on that one as Constable Smidgy’s Load vest was so new it looked like it was unwrapped yesterday.
I don’t bother ringing the QPS any more for any personal issues, its just a waste of time.
But from experience Ringing the Queensland Police is a Waste of time as they have more pressing matters at hand such as Coffee, Learning how to parallel park, More coffee.
Other pressing matters such as social media updates involving Cute animals.

So I have for the use of the Queensland Police…bought a body cam to record all my interactions.
Why? not because I want to spend the $500+ on a body cam but because in this day and age….video recording is the new standard of proof.
Over worked and under staffed Police that cannot physically investigate every crime because the Government just won’t fund them.
Process serving documents, I love my job, I just don’t like being assaulted.
